Parent Club

What is PTC?

PTC stands for Parent Teacher Club.  It is an organization made up of parents, teachers, and community citizens that work together to promote the welfare of students.

PTC relies on volunteers to accomplish its goals.  Volunteers provide time, talents, baked goods ideas, etc. when needed.

Policies of the organization are stated in detail in the by-laws.  You may request a copy of the by-laws at any time for review from the front office.

PTC meetings are scheduled monthly at 5:30pm in the school library.  They fall on the second Tuesday of the month (unless school is not in session).

Our PTC is an organization within the school and has no national or state affiliation.   A PTC is not required to charge dues to its membership.  (We have chosen not to charge dues at this time.) Membership attendance enables you to help make decisions within the organization and will keep you informed.  You may, however, be an active member without attending the monthly meetings by serving on the various committees.  If you would like to donate your time please contact the PTC at 327-7700.

What does PTC accomplish?

The PTC purchases various things for Pinedale, our goal this year is to purchase a Marquee sign for in front of the school to help keep parents and the community involved and informed on various activities that are happening at school.

PTC sponsors many programs such as the International Salsa & Food Festival and provides the ribbons/wristbands for Red Ribbon Week in October. PTC acquires money from many fundraising projects throughout the year.  Some of these include the Fall Cookie Dough fundraising and International Salsa & Food Festival in May.  We encourage selling to friends and family.  There is enough response from this that we do not have to endanger the children’s safety by going door-to-door.  These two fundraisers help out the school a lot in the way of raising money to buy things that the school cannot.

What is the PTC vision?

The PTC continually works to provide things for the school that the school would normally not be able to purchase such as a Marquee sign for in front of the school.

What are the PTC board meetings?

The PTC board members provide direction for the group according to goals adopted by the group.  They meet once a month prior to the regular PTC meeting to set the agenda and organize the monthly meeting.  All requests for money and/or items for the agenda should be addressed at this meeting.

Where can I help?

There are many things you can do to help PTC.  We need your ideas.  Come to the meetings and give us ideas on fundraisers.  We can use parent volunteers to help break down orders when they come in, separate them, and help hand them out to the children.  Parent volunteers are needed to support our International Salsa and Food Festival and Teacher Appreciation Week with decorations, food preparation, set up, and tear down, etc and also our Holiday Shop in December.  We can use any and all support.  We all know that people have very busy lives but, volunteering only takes a little bit of your time but will go a long way in making this school successful.
