Pinedale is the first AVID elementary school in Clovis Unified. AVID stands for; Advancement Via Individual Determination. “AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.” 

AVID strategies include; Writing to learn, Inquiry skills, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading to learn (WICOR). Our students will focus on these strategies to help them become college and career ready. 

Students will be expected to:

• Use planners effectively
• Use AVID notetaking strategies
• Collaborate respectfully in groups
