Pinedale's mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth. Through partnership with our community, we will create a culture that ensures success for ALL students.

We Are AVID!


Pinedale is the first AVID elementary school in Clovis Unified. AVID stands for; Advancement Via Individual Determination. “AVID’s mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.” 

AVID strategies include; Writing to learn, Inquiry skills, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading to learn (WICOR). Our students will focus on these strategies to help them become college and career-ready. 

Students will be expected to:

  • Keep an organized binder
  • Use planners effectively
  • Use AVID notetaking strategies
  • Collaborate respectfully in groups
